In Review
2003 was definitely a big year for RadioU artists.
At first, things did not so look good for P.O.D..
In February came the news that Marcos (then
their guitarist) was leaving. The band returned though,
stronger than ever with the November release of Payable
On Death. The CD was a first of it's kind:
the first one million sold featured a custom video
game track for the PS2 game Amplitude,
and a 50-minute documentary.
Stacie Orrico spent this year making
a name for herself. Her self-titled album is now reaching
sales of two million worldwide. She was featured on
the NBC show American Dreams and
was nominated for her first Grammy award.
Groups that decided to call it quits in 2003:TwoThirtyEight, Hangnail,
and Five Iron Frenzy. Five Iron went
out with a bang though, taking Bleach and Holland with
them on their final tour.
Other tours that got people talking: Festival
Con Dios 2 in the fall with FM Static, Kutless and Seven
Places. The Underground Uprising
Tour with Pillar, Spoken, Disciple and Kids
In The Way, also !HERO: The Rock
Opera tour with Tait, Mark
Stuart of Audio Adrenaline and Rebecca
St. James.
